I have always looked forward to rest days especially now that I have 2 days to spend with my family. I actually didn't notice the week has passed already and that my rest days were already coming up. So I was imagining myself to be sleeping all afternoon at home and bonding with my little ones but this is how I really spent my rest days...
NBI CLEARANCE
Last friday, I had to get an updated NBI clearance for work. Rob went with me to Mandaluyong City Hall and lo and behold! No long lines! Yay! We went there around 2pm and was done by 2:30pm. Can you imagine!? Last time I went and got my NBI, I waited for 6 hours! SIX LOOOOONG HOURS! But I told myself next time I'd go, I'd go in the afternoon since the day is almost done and most people would want to go during the morning. So yey! Did not waste 5 and a half hours for that NBI! Yayyyy! But to be honest, I could have finished the NBI procedure in less than 20 minutes if (1) I brought ballpen instead of buying, (2) filled up all the necessary information instead of the lady telling me twice to fill out items that I missed out and (3) I hadn't fixed my hair so much for the photo but oh well, photos are permanent so I might as well try to look good. ☺☺☺
If you're going to get your NBI clearance, heed these advices:
○ Go on a weekday. Period.
○ Bring a valid government ID (passport, driver's license etc). THIS IS A MUST!!!
○ Be presentable. Wear presentable attire (at least for the top). You're gonna have your picture taken for your clearance and not for your mugshot.
○ Go in the afternoon, say around 1-ish? By this time, the long line of people is almost done and you're left with the few ones who went there late in the morning.
○ NBI centers in malls tend to have more people because it is airconditioned. I don't know with other centers but Mandaluyong City Hall sure has shorter lines. Go here for complete list of NBI Clearance centers.
○ Have clean hands. It's a biometrics clearance system so, you know..
○ If you have a "HIT", then you have to come back to get your clearance (just like me). Saaad! It means someone has the same name as mine and they'll have to check my clearance thoroughly. Usually it's 21 days but this time for me it's 24 days. Hmm. Anyway.. If you don't have a "HIT", lucky you! You'll get your NBI clearance in more or less 30 minutes depending on the amount of people.
I know that NBI clearance sounds exhausting and it is... before. I've experienced getting mine back in 2008 in Monumento. I think that was the "main" center for NBI clearance and it was really hell! Looong lines and shifting from 2nd floor to 3rd floor to 4th floor for the payment, verification and for the photo. I'm glad that this time, processing of NBI clearance is getting better and much more systematic. Thank God for technology huh? ☺
YEARBOOK
I planned on getting my yearbook from Lasalle since it has long been available but I didn't have time to pick it up but yesterday, I called up Lasalle and asked if the Green and White Office is open during Saturdays so that if it is, I can go and get my yearbook. But the lady on the other end told me there are no students. I assumed that it is closed so I was not able to get my yearbook yet again. I hope that I can finally get my hands on that huge-ass yearbook soon! It's been a year since I graduated! I plan on getting it this Friday and maybe have a mini get together with my college friends. ☺
I really miss Lasalle.
I miss studying.
Most of my college friends are studying Master's now and I'm a bit envious.
I wanna go back to school again.
But I don't want the education track anymore. It's just not for me.
I really have no idea what to get for further studies.
Literature? Hmm. I don't think I'm really up for it (yet).
Oh well. I'll figure it out.
For now, I'll just enjoy movie nights and friends marathon with Rob.
No worries.

Speaking of Rob... Since I was not able to get my yearbook and I cried Friday night because my shoulders hurt too much, he brought me to blind massage yesterday. Haha. I know! At first I was hesitant cause... I'm not sure why. Maybe because having a blind person massage me makes me feel that I am, in a way, degrading them.. But Rob insisted and told me that I am helping these people earn a living. So okay! We went to this place where he used to have his massage and I must say, the lady who massaged me was good. She really did take the pain in my shoulders away. ☺ She told me that I shouldn't take a bath when I am tired. And I always do that! I always take a bath whenever I get home from work. Anyway, he was extra sweet but then he left me there with no money. The lady finished massaging me but Rob is not back yet. Huhu. I felt like a little daughter left by my father to pay for something when I don't have anything with me. I waited for him. I almost wanted to cry but then he arrived with Jollibee flip float, paid for the massage and gave me the float. Haha! ☺ FCKYOU. Kidding!
Every night, Rob and I would watch something before going to sleep. It may be a movie or simply watching FRIENDS over and over again. I love my life! Simple but happy.
Some other pictures of the rest days..
By the way, I have improved a bit my blog!
I now have follow buttons. With one click, you'll get to my other social networking sites like Facebook, twitter, instagram etc.
I also have the share buttons. So if you want to share what you're reading, you can do so with ease.
The follow me on twitter badge is redundant since I already have a follow me on twitter on the upper right side corner but this is just too cute to let go.
And finally, a FAQ section. If you have questions that you would like me to answer, email me at thejjoyce@gmail.com ☺
Have a great week ahead you guys!! Good vibes!!
