Who here haven't seen "The Conjuring"?
I would have raised both my hands in enthusiasm cause I had no plans of watching that movie ever. I have seen the trailer a few months back in the hopes of finding the trailer of Insidious 2 and I have decided early on that I would not want to be the one trying not to blink while the lights are out at night, I would not want to be that person who, if possible, would take a bath with the door of the bathroom open just so I could run at once IF EVER I see something, and I would not be that person who would be crazily paranoid that a mumu is right behind me.
And with this circulating the social networking sites, I say "Thanks, but no thanks!".
I don't want to be possessed while watching the movie or after watching it.
But Rob wanted to watch the Conjuring so bad that even if it wasn't in the movies yet, so Mhia introduced us to a site called Popcornnow where you can watch all sorts of movies (Ignore the x-rated ones please). Rob invited me to watch it before sleeping but I told him that I don't want to but he should watch it if he really wants. So he did. I was secretly fighting off the urge to watch cause it was late at night and the room is pitch black. The only light you could see is the one from the Ipad, in which the Conjuring showcases dark scenes most of the time. Well, I triumphantly slept through the night. Yay! No nightmares, no scary faces when I close my eyes, no idea about the movie. Meh.
I was really curious as to what the movie is all about. So I invited Rob to watch the movie again, this time with me in broad daylight. mehehe. To be honest, I wasn't that scared at all because Rob was there to tell me when a scary image was about to come so I could cover my eyes. Haha. Useless watching a horror movie! You may say I have no right to say this but I think that the movie Insidious is scarier than the Conjuring. Insidious is full of action and scary shit veiled women while the Conjuring is full of almost there but not there mumu. The movie climaxed only when Lorraine fell to the basement, that's when things got scary. But still, watch it though, it is based on a true story of the Perron family. I really was affected by the Annabelle doll that the demonologists, Ed & Lorraine Warren kept in their museum. This one is scary!! But the real doll looks different from the one in the movie. So scary that I am not willing to post the picture of the original Annabelle doll.
Amidst the mania for the paranormal phenomena, "The Conjuring", here comes the fame-whore, tropical storm "Maring" (international name: Trami) along with the southwest monsoon Habagat stealing the limelight from the Conjuring.
The next day, Katz & I were still able to go to work although the weather isn't improving at all. It was Monday, our weekly report day. I finished the weekly report, sent it and then that's it! The weather is really becoming worse so I decided to go home. I don't want to swim in flood going home. I spent the whole afternoon tending to my family and hoping that the rain would stop but the next day, the opposite happened. Flood everywhere, tweets and newsfeed updates were all about the rain, the flood and the wind. Ohmy! Just look at the street in front of our building!
The worse part is that we didn't have stock of food and money! Rob had to conquer the flood and withdraw money before being able to buy food. He did triumphantly but he was soaking wet from the rain and the flood. Poor Rob. In total, I had 2 and a half days at home. Basically, our days spent at home were just filled with sleeping, watching movies, playing, surfing the internet, waiting for announcements, praying and cleaning. Those were productive 2 and a half days. I love bed weather! But I sure do hope that everyone else is now okay.
I know that this is, as I said before in my instagram, like "Ondoy all over again" but the Filipinos are resilient and happy people. Whatever was lost will be replaced with much better things. Smile people. ☺
